Reported Crop Circles for the State
of Missouri -
Osceola, St. Clair County (June 21, 1990)
The Kansas City Star reported seven different crop circles (5 locations: Osceola, Odessa, Bates City, Missouri; Oskaloosa, Topeka, Kansas) discovered in the Kansas City area, and provided a map of the locations. Speculates on cause of circles’ formation due to microbursts. The media attention was national, and the sites drew thousands of visitors. The Osceola site had one circle in sorghum. The Arizona Republic reported on 6-21-1990 that 85 miles S/E of Kansas City, Kansas a 30’-40’ flattened circle in sorghum grass was found; 25 miles East of Kansas City, Missouri two circles ~40’ wide were discovered in sorghum grass [Bates City?]; all three circles were located near trees and roads.
